My brother Blake (that’s him above) and his fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon at University San Diego are hosting it’s annual soccer tournament / music festival to raise money for LHON (Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy), a hereditary disease that causes blindness in those who have it.
One of Blake’s fraternity brothers was diagnosed with LHON. He lost his vision, but just before he was going to drop out of school his fraternity brothers came to his aid. They changed their schedules to match his, walked him to classes, read him the notes they took for him, and ultimately kept him in university. Since then Blake and his fraternity have raised over $150,000 for C.U.R.E. LHON - Doheny Eye Institute and their fraternity brother, Jeremy Poincenot, has gone on to win the World Championships of Blind Golf.
Donations of any size can be made. If you are not able to make a donation, would you please pass this along to help out Blake as he organizes this massive 2000+ person event to raise money for his friend and, eventually, a cure.
